About Denise K. Garcia

Ph.D. Genetics 1991: Texas A&M University. Dr. Garcia started her appointment at CSUSM in Fall, 1996. Dr. Garcia conducted postdoctoral work at the Australian Institute of Marine Science and then was a research associate at Tufts University, School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Garcia’s expertise is in genetics using molecular tools, with research interests in genome restructuring after viral pathogenesis and genetic factors controlling important traits in animals.
