Prospective Students

Graduate Students

We are glad you are interested in pursuing graduate study in Psychological Science at CSUSM! We offer an M.A. in Psychological Science.

When considering prospective graduate students, Dr. Jobin strongly considers the mutual fit between the applicant’s scientific and clinical interests, experiences, and objectives for graduate training alongside our lab’s mission and focus.

If you are interested in joining the SPARCC lab, email Dr. Jobin indicating your interests, and attach a copy of your resume or CV.

Undergraduate Students

Thank you for your interest in joining the SPARCC lab! Undergraduate research assistants are integral members of our research team. Student researchers assist with literature reviews, participant recruitment and enrollment, data collection and data entry, behavioral coding, and other related tasks. Advanced students may be involved in the delivery of intervention procedures to study participants when projects involve intervention delivery.

Course Prerequisites: To be eligible for either PSYC 498 or PSYC 499 you should have completed at least 48 units of undergraduate study, and you should have a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or better. In addition, to be eligible for PSYC 499 you should have successfully completed (i.e., with a grade of “C” or better) at least one (1) upper division laboratory course in psychology or CHAD. Both PSYC 498 and 499 require the consent of the instructor to enroll.

Minimum requirements include the ability to work 5-10 hours/week with a commitment of at least 2 semesters and an interest in our lab's research. As a research assistant, you will be registering for either PSYC 498 or 499 (1-4 credits). Preference for students demonstrating curiosity about treatment for children with ASD and/or related childhood disorders, professionalism, attention to detail, accountability, and openness to learning and feedback. Selection for a position also requires compatibility with meetings, or lab schedule, and project responsibilities.
