Presented by: Kristen Higgins, Compuer C'lectives teacher, TCA

Instructions

1.  Watch the video directions for this activity.

2.  Open up a blank Google Slide.

3.  Decide what you will be animating and insert a starting object and (optional) background.

4.  To insert an object: “Insert” --> "Image” --> “Search the web”.  Then look for an object with a transparent background.

5.  To change the background, look for the “background” button in the Slides toolbar. Click it and choose either a solid color background OR “choose image” and do a Google image search.

6.  Place the starting object on the far left side of the screen.

7.  Click “Slide” --> “Duplicate slide”, make a very small adjustment to the object on Slide 2 (for example, two right clicks of your keyboard arrows and two clicks down), and then continue to duplicate the slide and make small movements on the most recent slide until you have between 30-100 slides. Your object should travel all the way across the screen over the course of the animation.

8.  You may change backgrounds and introduce new objects to help tell your story.

9.  To view animation: Click "File"--> "Publish to Web", copy the link and change the speed at end of the link to “&delayms=250”.

10. Open a new tab in your browser and paste the link. Click the play button to view the animation.

11.  Make any necessary changes after viewing your animation. If you make a change, you will need to go through the steps of publishing it to the web again to update the changes.

12.  When you are satisfied with your animation you may share your link with family and friends.
