The Foundation Classroom Building was built in response to a need for additional classroom space on campus. The CSUSM Foundation (now known as the University Auxiliary Research Services Corporation) financed the construction of these two temporary tilt up buildings and leased it back to the campus for a period of time after which they would be owned by the campus. Today, these two buildings now house administration spaces for Extended Learning (as well as their classroom space), ASI and Parking and Commuter Services.
