Viasat Engineering Pavilion

The Viasat Engineering Pavilion, originally known as The Foundation Classroom Building,  was built in response to a need for additional classroom space on campus.  The CSUSM Foundation originally financed the construction of these two temporary tilt up buildings and leased it back to the campus for a period of time after which they would be owned by the campus.  Previously, these two buildings housed The Extended Learning Department programs and administrative spaces.

The Extended Learning Department offers a variety of credit, non-credit and online programs at both the San Marcos and Temecula campuses:

  • Human Resources
  • Supervising Employees
  • Operations Resource Management
  • Tasting Room Management
  • Meeting & Event Planning
  • Digital Arts
  • Environmental Studies
  • Health and Human Services
  • Palliative Care
  • Specialized Accelerated MBA (SAMBA)

After a renovation was completed in 2020,  these two buildings now  house administration spaces and faculty office spaces for the CSTEM Engineering Department and classrooms for software and electrical engineering programs.

There are also two innovative learning spaces funded by corporate donors.

  • Hunter Design Lab
  • Nordson Innovation Lab
