About Us

Our mission is rooted in the belief that a globalized academic community is not just desirable but essential for our continued success. In an increasingly interconnected world, IFSA's work is vital, and goes beyond the boundaries of our CSUSM campus. One of the greatest strengths of any academic community lies in its ability to draw from a multitude of cultural backgrounds and experiences. It is through this rich tapestry of diversity that we can broaden our horizons, challenge our preconceptions, and truly prepare our students to thrive in an interconnected world. Our international community bring with them a wealth of knowledge, experiences, and cultural nuances that enrich the fabric of our academic community.

Goals

(1) To support the university to better support international faculty.  

(2) To create opportunities for international faculty and staff to socialize, network, and support each other. 

(3) To highlight the diversity international faculty and staff represents to the university community. 

(4) To promote global awareness and global competence on our CSUSM (California State University San Marcos) campus.

(5) To advocate for international faculty and staff.

(6) To be a support system for international students.
