Undergraduate Degree Programs

The Sociology Department offers two Bachelor's of Arts degree programs:
B.A. in Sociology
B.A. in Criminology and Justice Studies

Each degree requires 120 units for completion, 43-44 of which must be from sociology courses.  The links above provide general information and the specific requirements for each degree.  Students who are governed by earlier catalogs, or who wish to count older courses toward their degree requirements, should also examine important information concerning our transition from 3-unit to 4-unit courses.

We also offer two minors:

Minor in Sociology
Minor in Criminology and Criminal Justice

Faculty advisors for all of our degree programs are assigned alphabetically.  Meeting with a faculty advisor is not required but encouraged, especially if you have questions about specific requirements, course selection, and careers.  The following link shows the current advisor assignments for all majors and minors.
