Located on a 304-acre hillside overlooking the city of San Marcos, the University is just a short distance from some of Southern California’s best beaches and an hour from the U.S.-Mexico border. CSUSM enrollment is over 16,000 and the university is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.

CSUSM Land Acknowledgement
We acknowledge that the land on which we gather is the traditional territory of the Luiseño/Payómkawichum people. CSUSM and its surrounding areas are still home to the six federally recognized bands of the La Jolla, Pala, Pauma, Pechanga, Rincon, Soboba Luiseño/Payómkawichum people. It is also important to acknowledge that this land remains the shared space among the Kuupangaxwichem/Cupeño and Kumeyaay and Ipai peoples.
