Years at CSUSM?
One year in November 2015
What is your short term goal?
My short term goal is continued professional development and to become proficient and efficient at my current position.
What is your long term goal?
I would like to lecture in the film studies program and work as a screenwriter and director for film. I have considered getting my PhD. sometime in the future. Oh, and I want to travel both domestic and abroad.
What is your greatest accomplishment (personal or professional)?
My greatest accomplishment is my children. They are 18 and 22 years old and are both wonderful young ladies. I am so proud to be their mom!
What is favorite movie?
There are too many to list. In general I like psychological thrillers, horror, and science fiction.
What is your favorite food?
I love sugar cream pie- especially homemade by my mom. You can’t find it anywhere around here! I found out after moving here (from Indiana) that it is a regional dish from the Midwest that seems to have originated in Indiana.
What is your favorite book?
Again- too many to name! I used to read a lot more than I do now. I like reading Stephen King and Dean Koontz. My favorite classic might be Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad.
What are your hobbies?
I enjoy screenwriting for film and have several scripts in varies stages of development. I have directed and produced short films.
Tell us about your family.
I have been married to my wonderful husband for just over 20 years and we have two amazing daughters who are now grown. We have one “baby” at home- our 9 year old Boston Terrier.
What is your favorite thing about working at CSUSM?
My favorite thing about working at CSUSM is the continual opportunity to learn new things. I feel like this is a supportive environment where people want to help and encourage me to succeed.
What would you like to do when you retire?
Read, write, travel, and spend time with my husband, children, and future grandchildren. And if my husband agrees, maybe get a few Boston Terriers!
