Years at CSUSM?
1 year as an ASA
What is your short-term goal?
Finish and publish an article I am working on. And finish all the books I bought (but never read) while writing my thesis!
What is your long-term goal?
Continue my education. I would love to go for a Ph.D., but we will see how that goes. I would also love to continue traveling. My dream is to do a cross-country road trip.
What is your greatest accomplishment (personal or professional)?
Getting my Masters was an incredible moment and so gratifying! And even better my family in Colombia had a little viewing party to watch the live stream.
What is your favorite movie?
I’m a huge fan of Humphrey Bogart and that era of film noir and crime films. My favorites are The Big Sleep and Double Indemnity.
What is your favorite food?
Ajiaco, an Andean chicken and potato soup.
What is your favorite book?
So many, but my favorites to reread are “Crime and Punishment” by Fyodor Dostoevsky and “Love in the Time of Cholera” by Gabriel Garcia Marquez.
What are your hobbies?
Reading, painting, and cooking. I love doing anything creative and experimental.
What is your favorite thing about working at CSUSM?
Working with some of the most interesting and diverse people means there is always something new to learn!
What would you like to do when you retire?
Won’t be anytime soon, but I’ve always thought I’d move to Colombia or some place in South America to be closer to family and teach English.
