Master of Arts in Education - Communicative Sciences & Disorders Option
The Communicative Science and Disorders Option with the Clinical Rehabilitative Services Language, Speech and Hearing Credential Program has been designed to meet the standards of practice established by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CCTC), and the new 2008 standards of the Council on Academic Accreditation of the American Speech-Language Hearing Association. This program is specifically designed to prepare professionals to serve students in K-12 settings.
Regulations and standards of the three (3) agencies that regulate the practice of SLP’s -- CCTC, California SLPAB (licensing board) and the Council on Academic Accreditation of the American Speech-Language Hearing Association -- are interdependent, it has become apparent that it would be more advantageous for the program and for its graduates to secure accreditation status through Council on Academic Accreditation of the American Speech-Language Hearing Association prior to opening. We are currently going through that process and we will accept applications once we have received Candidacy status.
