GEOG 201 - World Regional Geography (Academic Year 2017/18 )

The Department of Liberal Studies at California State University San Marcos seeks a part-time lecturer for academic year 2017/18 to teach GEOG 201 – World Regional Geography.  Candidates should have interests in or experience in teaching a class which: “Survey of major world regions and their major countries. Study of specific geographical circumstances and geographical concepts, including an emphasis on physical geography. Focuses on processes and issues such as development and under-development; population and migration; race, class, and gender; technology and economic growth; natural resources and the environment, and conflict and cooperation within a world regional framework.”

Minimum requirements for the position include:  a Master’s degree in a related field.

Preferred requirements for the position include: a Ph.D. in a related field and experience teaching courses in physical geography.  Preference will be given to applicants with demonstrated commitment to diversity and/or intercultural competence with diverse groups in relation to teaching.
