Post-Award Support Faculty Fellow

Serving from Spring 2024 – Fall 2024 

The Post-Award Support Faculty Fellow will provide leadership in guiding a cohort of early-stage investigators in their new role as PI. This position will work with the Grants & Contracts Development team within the Office of Graduate Studies & Research. This fellow will lead monthly meetings with one-to-one support as needed to assist early-stage investigators to navigate in their new role as PI. The fellow will aid in developing content to guide faculty through post-award procedures and implementation efforts of their awarded project. Post-award mentoring will also guide faculty to continue building their research by seeking out and applying for future funding opportunities. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Co-create curriculum to foster knowledge of the post-award process to early PIs. 
  • Lead mentoring meetings monthly. 
  • Provide sustained mentorship to the mentee cohort. 
  • Meet on a regular basis with the Grants and Contracts Development team. 

Minimum Requirements: 

  • Demonstrated success in receiving and administering external grant funds. 
  • Minimum of 2 years of administering external funding. 
  • Must have the ability to lead monthly meetings and commit the needed time for this position. 

Time Commitment:  
The Faculty Fellow position will be a 1-year appointment. Monthly meetings are anticipated to be about 1 hour. Additional time will be necessary to co-develop curriculum/agenda topics with the Grants and Contracts Development team. One-to-one support to the mentee cohort will occur as needed. 

Compensation:  
Additional Employment for a total of up to $8,000 over the 1-year position: Spring 2024, Summer 2024, Fall 2024. This position will be paid from an NIH pass-through award.
