CAMP Requirements

In order to participate in the College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP) during the first year at CSUSM, potential students must meet all of the following requirements:

  1. Be an entering Freshman student
    For example: current High School Senior, recent High School Graduate/ GED Recipient (and hasn’t attended college).

  2. Meet California State University San Marcos admission requirements*

  3. Apply for California State University San Marcos online via Cal State Apply

  4. Apply for Financial Aid (FAFSA)

  5. Be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Legal Resident

  6. Have a Migrant/ Seasonal Farm Work Background:

    a. Student is a current or former participant of the Migrant Education Program.
    b. Student, parent (s) or immediate family members living in the same household have spent at least 75 working days in migrant or seasonal farm work during the past 24 months, in one of the following agricultural activities: Production of crops, Dairy products, Poultry or livestock, Cultivation of plants/trees (may be eligible)
  7.  Attend our Summer CAMP Experiece

*Special Admission: If you are not meeting CSUSM Admission requirements, you may still qualify for admission based on a special admission. Please contact an Academic Advisor immediately to discuss any admissions issues.
