Campus Safety Procedures
California State University San Marcos (CSUSM) places the highest priority on the
health, safety and wellbeing of our students, faculty, staff, and the surrounding
community. In keeping with CSUSM’s guiding principles in the Return to Campus - Guideline & Safety Plans, the following measures are in place to protect our campus community:
- All CSUSM students, faculty, staff, independent contractors, and vendors must complete
a daily symptom and health self-screening each day before coming to campus. Students may access this from either the CSUSM app or from the self-screening web page.
- All CSUSM students, faculty, staff, independent contractors and vendors must stay
home if they are unwell. Contact your supervisor or faculty member to notify them
of your absence. Stay home, self-quarantine, monitor symptoms, and seek medical care
if you are sick. If you receive a positive COVID-19 test - report it on our form.
- All CSUSM students, faculty, staff, independent contractors, and vendors are required
to use a face covering practice physical distancing and use good hand hygiene. Students,
faculty and staff will be provided a face covering if they need one while on campus.
All employees and students will be provided additional non-mask Personal Protective
Equipment (PPE) essential for their job or their courses and necessary for current
infection control protocols
- We have deployed engineering controls such as improved ventilation measures and installation
of plexiglass dividers in appropriate areas, such as instructional laboratories and
customer service operations
- Common areas, particularly busy locations such as in-use classrooms, restrooms, and
high traffic locations, are frequently cleaned and disinfected. Classes will end on
time and vacate promptly to allow for proper disinfection
- Touchless hand sanitizer stations are placed in common areas and throughout campus
in essential areas
- Physical distancing reminders are posted throughout the campus including the use of
signage, distancing markers, and the reconfiguration of all classrooms to include
physical distanced seating. Furniture is set on social distance markers placed on
the floor and it is not to be moved
