California State University San Marcos seeks Tenure Track faculty for an academic year appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor, who has expertise in medical-surgical nursing and leadership. The successful applicant will teach in both the undergraduate and graduate programs.
Minimum requirements for the position included: Earned doctorate in nursing or related field from an accredited institution of higher education, possession of or eligibility for licensure by the California Board of Registered Nurses (BRN), and demonstrated experience and expertise in medical-surgical nursing. Doctoral candidates may be considered but must have completed the doctorate at the time of appointment. . Candidates must demonstrate potential for success in undergraduate and graduate teaching an the ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with colleagues on an ethnically and culturally diverse campus. The successful candidate will have the ability to develop and sustain a research program that will lead to publications in peer-reviewed journals.
Preferred requirements for the position include: Previous experience in curriculum development and teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level using a variety of methodologies including long distance instructional deliver and/or web-based instructional methods. Experience as a leader in nursing and in teaching Nursing Leadership and Management courses and clinical. Preference will also be given to applicants with demonstrated intercultural competence with diverse groups in teaching, research, and/or service. CSUSM places great value upon the development of educational and research partnerships within the community and candidates with a history of interdisciplinary collaboration and/or community based research are desirable.
