Temporary Student Health and Counseling Services Application Pool - Clinical Psychologist

Student Health and Counseling Services at California State University San Marcos accepts applications on an on-going basis for our pool of temporary Clinical Psychologists. Salary is commensurate with credential and experience.

Minimum qualifications:  

  • A Doctorate in Clinical or Counseling Psychology, currently licensed as a Clinical Psychologist in California.  
  • Experience conducting time-limited psychotherapy, crisis intervention and psychological assessment.

Preferred qualifications:  

  • Counseling experience in post-secondary setting is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in developing and providing outreach and educational programs pertinent to college student mental health is highly desirable.
  • Interest in, and expertise in, concerns commonly presented by college students (such as depression, anxiety, relationship problems, eating disorders and stress management) is highly desirable.
  • Specialized knowledge in substance abuse, diversity, cross-cultural counseling, health psychology, sexual orientation and/or gender identity is also desirable.
  • An additional expertise in working with Hispanic students is highly desirable.  
  • Preference will be given to applicants with demonstrated commitment to diversity and/or intercultural competence with diverse groups in relation to teaching.
