Hybrid Options Examples

Example 1: Hybrid: Face-to-Face paired with asynchronous work

In this format, the only time students would be required to synchronously meet would be during the face-to-face portion of the class (during the approved class time). All other work will be formatted to take advantage of an asynchronous approach. While there are numerous combinations of methods, here is a sample structure.

• Present material in an asynchronous manner: readings, pre-recorded lecture, supporting videos which students engage before the synchronous session.
• Synchronous session: Clarification, active learning, application of material.
• Application & assessment: Discussion boards, quizzes, case studies, reflection on synchronous session.

For a Tuesday/Thursday course, scheduling this session might look like:
