About the Cougar Fund
The Cougar Fund of California State University San Marcos is a student-run investment fund with over $550,000 in assets under management. Its vision empowers students to manage invested assets using practical applications of quantitative and fundamental strategies while effectively controlling risk within the constraints of fund policy.
The Cougar Fund’s mission is to provide students with real-world portfolio management and security analysis experience, enhance student development and job placement, and generate funds for student scholarships and programs.
Why Should You Join?
Students should join the Cougar Fund to gain hands-on experience that is crucial for their careers in finance. This opportunity allows them to develop essential skills in analysis, teamwork, and decision-making, all while contributing to a fund that supports their peers through scholarships. Joining the Cougar Fund is not just about personal growth; it's about making a positive impact on the CSUSM community.
Active Cougar Fund board members also have the potential opportunity of attending Quinnipiac's Global Asset Management Education (G.A.M.E.) Forum, held in New York. This event is the world's largest student-run financial conference, where students and industry leaders discuss finance, investment, and career development.
