First Year Students

The School of Nursing welcomes you to California State University San Marcos!  We look forward to working with admitted nursing students in completing the Traditional Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (TBSN).

The TBSN is an IMPACTED program. An undergraduate major is designated as impacted when the number of applications received from fully qualified applicants during the initial filing period exceeds the number of available spaces. Such majors are authorized to use supplementary admission criteria to screen applications. First-time Freshman admission decisions are based on college readiness and the Eligibility Index score. Local area applicants are given priority over non-local applicants. This major is not eligible for early admission decision. First-time Freshman not accepted into the Nursing  major by the start of the fall term will not be able to switch majors or apply to the impacted major at a later date.
