Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve is a wilderness oasis in a largely urban area and home to our nation's rarest pine tree - Pinus torreyana. The reserve is also a salt marsh that houses many water birds, and as such is a very unique and sensitive Southern California ecosystem that is well worth a visit for the great views alone. Some of California's most beloved plants and animals rely on this reserve. Join us as we hike and explore this prestine urban area. Afterwards, we will enjoy some local delicacies for lunch before making our way back to campus.
