The College Access, Readiness and Success Services programs provide students with
academic and tutoring support, computer lab facilities, counseling and advising services,
and general information for success at Cal State San Marcos. College Access, Readiness
and Success Services promotes the idea that students learn most effectively and progress
through college curriculum more successfully by supplementing their classroom learning
with the encouragement and support of staff and peer tutors that are well versed in
the subject matter and sympathetic to the demands of college life.
The staff of the College Access, Readiness and Success Services are carefully selected and trained to assist a diversified student population : Proficiency Services consists of the Early Assessment Program (EAP) for high school students and provides services geared toward helping current CSUSM students meet proficiency requirements and also administers the Entry Level Math (ELM) exam and English Placement Test (EPT); and Personalized Academic Success Services (PASS) works with students to assess each student's situation holistically and provide appropriate support and resources (on-campus or in the community) to help students achieve academic and personal success.
