Early Start at other CSU's

Students may also participate in an Early Start program offered at any other CSU campus. This may be appropriate for non-local students.

  • Other CSU campuses are offering Early Start courses in various time blocks throughout the summer.
  • Some CSU campuses are planning to offer online course options as well.
  • CSU course fee waivers are available to California residents who apply for financial aid and have an Estimated Family Contribution of $5,000 or less.

Students may wish to take an approved course at their local community college. Be aware that space in traditional English and math developmental courses may be very limited at many community colleges.

  • A community college course offered as a prerequisite to a community college Written Communication course (Written Communication courses are indicated with the notation A2) is appropriate for satisfying the English Early Start requirement.
  • A community college course offered as a prerequisite to a community college Mathematics/Quantitative Reasoning course (Mathematics/Quantitative Reasoning courses are indicated with the notation B4) is appropriate for satisfying the Mathematics Early Start requirement.There are no CSU waivers for community college courses.To explore Early Start options at community colleges, please visit: Assist
