Cybersecurity at California State University San Marcos

Welcome to Cybersecurity Education Hub (CEH) at California State University San Marcos (CSUSM) website. CEH provides access to up-to-date cybersecurity resources at CSUSM to assist students interested in cybersecurity opportunities. It also helps provide the staff and the community, with informative security awareness and cyber safety.

CSUSM offers two academic programs focused on cybersecurity: the Master of Science in Cybersecurity and the Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity.  In 2019, the National Security Agency (NSA) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) have designated CSUSM as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education.

CEH hosts an annual Capture The Flag (CTF) competition for CSUSM students with varying difficulty levels of tasks that are friendly to those with little cybersecurity background knowledge. The Cybersecurity Club meets weekly during the school year for presentations from cybersecurity professionals, shared learning opportunities, and practices to compete in the National Cybersecurity League (NCL).
