For Educators

The CSUSM Cybersecurity Education Hub has developed a four part series of learning modules which are available for use in your class.

  • Cybersecurity - Overview: General information, famous cybersecurity incidents, careers in cybersecurity
  • Cybersecurity - Safety: Information about phishing, malware, social engineering, how to prevent these things
  • Cybersecurity - Concepts: Common concepts such as confidiality, integrity, availability, threat, vulnerability...
  • Cybersecurity - Privacy and Social Media: Privacy online, how our data is used, microtargeting, examples from the 2016 election

Each of these modules contains a recorded lecture (40-50 min), slides and an "info for educators" page with learning outcomes, suggested activities, discussion questions, potential assignments and/or quiz questions.

These are intended for campus first year programs but may be appropriate for use in a high school computer technology class.
