Throughout the month of gAyPRIL (April), CSUSM will celebrate the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, asexual and ally plus (LGBTQA+) community through a series of events. Our events are centered around educating the campus community and celebrating the CSUSM LGBTQA+ community.
Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Pride Month (LGBT Pride Month) is currently celebrated each year in the month of June to honor the 1969 Stonewall riots in Manhattan. The Stonewall riots were a tipping point for the Gay Liberation Movement in the United States. The purpose of the commemorative month is to recognize the impact that lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender individuals have had on history locally, nationally, and internationally. At CSUSM we celebrate LGBTQA Pride Month in gAyPRIL (April) to catch all the fun before the end of the semester.
