My role at Cal State San Marcos

As a Career Peer, I help students with resumes and cover letters, job searches, major exploration, and provide overall support for students’ career paths. I love Career Peer Connections because they allow me to serve students with on-on-one assistance, turning career exploration from stressful to exciting.

My career path

I graduated in 2017 from Fullerton High School in Orange County and through volunteer experience and former jobs, I realized my career path must involve positions that empower me to help others. Because of this, I am currently pursuing my Bachelor of Arts in Psychological Science hopefully to end up as a Marriage and Family Therapist.

The rewards in doing what I do

I love making real impacts in students’ lives. Before becoming a Career Peer, I received much help from the Career Center. Now that I am in this position, I am thankful I can provide the same amount of support to others as I once received.

My words of wisdom to students

Utilize your resources! All centers on campus are put in place to help you, so use them. Although initially walking into a center may be intimidating, you will be so thankful you did. All of the staff, especially at the Career Center, wants to help you. Drop in and say hi!

In my free time

I love hanging out with family and friends, finding the best new coffee, going to the beach, and, of course, watching The Office.
