Simon Kuo

Vice President of Corporate Quality
Viasat

Vice Chair, CSUSM Foundation

Simon KuoSimon Kuo is the Vice President of Corporate Quality at Viasat. Simon and many of his colleagues at Viasat are strong supporters of CSUSM, collaborating with the university and other industry partners to bring Engineering to the campus. After receiving his B.S.E.E. from UCLA and M. Eng from Cal Poly Pomona, Simon started his engineering career in San Diego in Telecommunications, Scientific Research, and Defense. He started at Viasat in 1997 and has held various engineering and management positions.

Prior to joining the CSUSM foundation board, where he is currently serving as Vice Chair of the Board, Simon served on the board of CSUSM’s College of Science and Mathematics (now CSTEM). In 2023, CSUSM recognized Simon for his contributions to campus and the local community by honoring him with an Honorary Doctor of Science. Simon is currently also a Dean’s Advisory Board member at UCLA’s Samueli School of Engineering.
