The HSI-STEM Building an Effective Ecosystem for Equity in STEM Careers project is a five-year $5.0 million dollar federally funded effort to increase the success and degree attainment of hispanic and underserved students by creating an "EcosySTEM for Success". This EcosySTEM will be designed to close the achievement gap and create clear pathways to high-paying and high-demand careers in the STEM fields.

Major Goals

Pathway Development

Using the Guided Pathways model, develop and/or scale activities and practices that promote student persistence in STEM majors with a focus on equity and inclusivity.

Work-based & Experiential Learning

Expand Undergraduate Research Experiences (URE) and STEM work-based learning (WBL) opportunities and ensure equitable access for Hispanic and other underrepresented students.

Institutional & Industry Partnerships

Leverage strong institutional and industry partnerships to sustaining and scale accessibility of academic and career pathways.
