Veterans Services

Welcome to Spring 2026!

Starting in January 2026, Survivors' and Dependents' Educational Assistance (Chapter 35) beneficiaries are required to verify their enrollment each month to receive their benefit payments. A beneficiary must verify their enrollment for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to begin processing their monthly benefit. Once verified, payment processing can take five to seven calendar days.

Cal State San Marcos has earned the 2025-2026 Military Friendly® School designation, receiving a Gold Award for its exemplary work on behalf of military-connected students and their families.

CSUSM is home to 484 student veterans; the highest percentage per capita of any California State University. In total we serve over 1,800 military-connected students, which is 11% of our campus population
