Colleen is a Sociology graduate student at San Diego State University. She is a proud graduate of CSUSM with her BA in Social Sciences with an emphasis in Sociology, Psychology, and Communications. While an undergraduate, she won the Innovation Hub’s Social Innovation Challenge for her proposal to create campus programs for underrepresented student mothers. As a former preschool teacher, Colleen has always been passionate about uplifting underserved families and is always seeking new ways to translate that commitment into advocacy. In 2025, she was thrilled to begin working at the Women and Gender Equity Center as the coordinator of programs for parenting and caregiver students, advancing her commitment to supporting families. Colleen hopes to build a career in policy or higher education focused on expanding access and resources for underserved populations.
