Are you familiar with the National College Health Assessment (NCHA) Survey? Your input is invaluable to us! CSUSM relies on insights from students, such as yourself.

Contribute to the well-being of current and upcoming students by participating in the NCHA Survey. Your feedback will play a crucial role in shaping new wellness programs and services for our campus community.

Many students have been randomly selected to participate in the National College Health Assessment (NCHA) sponsored and distributed by the American College Health Association (ACHA). The ACHA-NCHA is a survey designed to assess student health behaviors in order to provide better services and support for California State University San Marcos (CSUSM) students. CSUSM participates in this survey every two to three years and the information is used to develop wellness programs and services for CSUSM.

If you have received an email to participate, we encourage you to complete the survey in one sitting, which typically takes about 20-30 minutes.  

How do I take the survey?

The NCHA Survey will open on Monday, March 11, 2024, and will close on Sunday, April 7, 2024. Students are randomly selected and will receive an email invitation from Cathy Nguyen, Coordinator of Health Promotion.

If you are selected to take the survey, please follow these steps:

  • Open your CSUSM Email
  • Search for An Invitation for [Your Name] from Cathy Nguyen, Coordinator of Health Promotion at CSUSM.
  • Access your individualized link from the email
  • Take the entire survey
Are there incentives to take the survey? 

In appreciation for participating, each student who completes the survey by April 7, 2024 deadline will be automatically entered in an opportunity drawing. We will be giving away:

  • 2 Winners = a study room with lunch served for them and 4 of their friends along with a CSUSM hoodie
  • 4 Winners = a CSUSM hoodie or blanket

Survey March 11 - April 7, 2024

If you have been invited to participate  via email from WITH US, it is an important survey that will help CSUSM better understand the health and safety issues that are important to you  and our campus community.  

In the next few days, you’ll receive an email to participate in the National College Student Bystander Intervention Survey 
administered by the WITH US Center for Bystander Intervention at Cal Poly. CSUSM is one of many universities to participate in this study, which gathers important information on students' bystander intervention attitudes, motivations, and behaviors related to the folloiwng issues:   

∙Sexual violence 
∙Bias and exclusion 
∙Hazing 
∙Misuse of alcohol and drugs 

All students who participate in the survey will also be eligible to win from $2500 worth of Amazon.com gift cards (ten $100 cards, ten $50 cards, and forty $25 cards).
