What Will I Vote On?

On Tuesday, November 3, all California registered voters will get to vote in the General Midterm Election. This election gives voters the chance to vote for candidates that were chosen in the June 2026 primary like Governor, local and Federal Representatives, and vote on state propositions. Register to Vote

All California registered voters will be mailed a ballot for the general midterm election starting October 5. October 19th is the last day to register to vote online.

Where Can I Cast My Ballot?
There are many ways to vote! In person at a polling place or vote center, or through a mail in ballot by dropping off your ballot in the regular mail, at a ballot drop box, or in person at a polling place or vote center. You can cast your mail in ballot at the Ballot Drop Box near the U.S. Mailbox at the Administration/Kellogg Circle off Craven Road. If dropping off your ballot through the regular mail (outgoing mailbox) they need to be postmarked on or before election day (November 3rd). If mailing on Election Day through the regular mail, you would need to get a hand-stamped postmark from a postal employee inside a United States Post Office. You can also drop it off in the regular mail at least 1 week early to make sure it gets postmarked on time. When in doubt, drop it off at a ballot box, polling place or vote center by 8pm on election day!

November 2026 California General (Midterm) Election Dates 

  • Monday, October 5 : Ballots mailed to registered voters.
  • Tuesday, October 6: Ballot drop box locations open (including on campus in the car drop off zone in front of the Library).
  • Monday, October 19: Last day to register to vote.
  • Saturday, October 24: Vote Centers open for early in-person voting in all Voter’s Choice Act counties (includes San Diego County).
  • Saturday, October 31: Early in-person voting in all Voter’s Choice Act counties (includes San Diego County) begins.
  • Tuesday, November 3: Midterm Election - polls shall be open throughout the state from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
    • Vote-by-mail ballots must be postmarked on or before Election Day. If mailing on Elections Day, get a hand-stamped postmark from a postal employee inside a United States Post Office.
