Human Development Program Overview
The Human Development Major is an interdisciplinary program that focuses on human growth and development throughout the lifespan, and on the familial, social, cultural, and political networks in which individuals develop. HD graduates will gain a comprehensive understanding of the social, cultural, psychological and biological factors that guide human behavior from birth to death.
Embedded across all concentrations are experiential learning components. Experiential learning places our students directly in the community. Working alongside health and human service agencies and organizations, students will gain hands-on knowledge, all while strengthening our communities, earning course credit, and forging working relationships that can provide career launchpads.
A degree in Human Development creates a foundation for careers in public health, mental health services, education, counseling, and much more!
