Workshop Descriptions:
Getting to Know Title IX/DHR - This 15-minute presentation introduces participants to the Office of Title IX/DHR, our team, and the role we play in supporting a safe, respectful, and inclusive campus community. Participants will learn about the resources and support available to them, including where to go with questions, concerns, or reports.
Title IX/DHR: Building a Healthy Campus Culture - This 30–45-minute presentation builds on the Getting to Know Title IX/DHR presentation. This interactive presentation explores how participants' choices, behaviors, and interactions contribute to the campus environment. Participants will learn how Title IX/DHR connects to everyday experiences, relationships, and community expectations, while exploring ways they can contribute to a culture grounded in respect, safety, and accountability.
Title IX/DHR for Student Leaders - This 30–60-minute training provides Student Leaders with a foundational understanding of Title IX/DHR and the CSU Non-Discrimination Policy, with a focus on their role in recognizing and appropriately responding to concerns involving gender-based discrimination, harassment, and sexual misconduct. Participants will learn when and how to connect students with resources, including the Title IX/DHR Office, explore how their leadership and interactions help shape a respectful campus culture, and understand how these policies also protect them in their own experiences as students and campus leaders.
Understanding Title IX/DHR: Reporting Responsibilities & Employee Rights - This 30-60-minute presentation provides CSUSM personnel with a practical understanding of Title IX/DHR, the CSU Non-Discrimination Policy, and their responsibilities when they become aware of potential gender-based discrimination, harassment, or sexual misconduct. In addition to clarifying reporting obligations and available resources, the training emphasizes that employees are also protected under these policies and can seek support when they experience gender-based discrimination, harassment, or other prohibited conduct in the workplace or campus community.
Understanding Title IX/DHR: Definitions, Rights & Resources. This 1-2 hour training builds on the Getting to Know Title IX/DHR presentation. This session provides participants with a deeper understanding of key Title IX/DHR concepts and terminology. Participants will explore relevant definitions, recognize behaviors that may fall within university policy, and learn about reporting options, supportive resources, and the role of the Title IX/DHR Office in responding to concerns.
