What is AB 540?

AB 540 is a California law that helps students who meet certain criteria pay in-state tuition rates at public colleges and universities. It provides a non-resident tuition exemption, making college more affordable for eligible students.

Financial Aid & Scholarships 

Students who meet AB 540 requirements are eligible to apply for state-based financial aid (Cal Grants, State University Grant, Dream Loan) and scholarships. 

• Apply for aid annually by completing the California Dream Act Application.
• Explore scholarships for AB 540 students.
• Get personalized assistance from our Financial Aid & Scholarships Office for completing the CA Dream Act application or applying for scholarships.
• Payment plans are also available. 

The California Dreamer Service Incentive Grant (DSIG) provides eligible students with financial aid in exchange for community or volunteer service.
