Bridges to Stem Cell Research Internship
The Bridges to Stem Cell Research Program is a full time research program funded by the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine (CIRM). The program is based at CSU San Marcos, and partners with Palomar, Mt. San Jacinto, San Diego Miramar and Mira Costa Colleges. It was developed to encourage the participation of a diverse group of both undergraduate and graduate students in the San Diego region in the field of stem cell science. The program has established working commitments with leaders in stem cell research in both academia and industry, in order to prepare students to enter the growing field of regenerative medicine.

The program will promote collaboration between the home institution and the host sites, through a twelve-month research internship and mentorship activities. Throughout the internship year the interns will also participate in a 12-unit Biotechnology course specific to the internship, oral and poster presentations, research seminars, scientific meeting attendance, patient advocacy and community outreach and diversity, equity and inclusion training. All of these experiences will help to prepare the interns for further scientific endeavors in the field.
Applicants must be enrolled at one of the follwing campuses when the internship begins: CSU San Marcos, Miramar College, Palomar College, Mt. San Jacinto College or Mira Costa College. Applicants must also be enrolled in a BS, MS or Certificate Program.
