Internship Expectations

What are the benefits of the COMPASS program?

  • Two years of free tuition and fees guaranteed for interns
  • Receive a monthly stipend in addition to tuition and fee support

What does a COMPASS intern do?

  • Work in the host lab on a part-time basis; a minimum of 10 hours/week, including some weekends and evenings for 2 years
  • Participate in summer research experiences after each Spring semester for a total of 2 summers
  • Attend lab meetings
  • Fully participate in patient advocacy and community outreach activities
  • Receive diversity, equity and inclusion training
  • Receive specialized mentoring activities
  • Be enrolled full time in CSUSM courses
