GEL Council

Mission Statement

Who we are: First-Year &University Programs’ GEL Council is a representative body of elected GEL faculty volunteers who work in collaboration with the Director of First-Year & University Programs. 

What we do: As a representative voice for GEL faculty and GEL students, the GEL council recommends and promotes department-wide decisions to evaluate and facilitate teaching and learning excellence in General Education Lifelong Learning. 

Our Mission: We are dedicated to inspiring GEL students and faculty with a sense of agency at CSUSM and beyond.  In that, we aim to foster, in ourselves and our students alike, dynamic funds of knowledge that integrate campus expectations, lived experiences, and lifelong learning.
