Make Changes In My Life

There are many ways in which we can start making changes in our own lives:

  • We can look around at the people who are in our lives and reach out and share these insights with them to help them become more aware but also to learn from their lived experiences.
  • We can express these ideas in songs or stories or poetry or art. Care work is everyone’s collective responsibility and there are many actions that can be taken to move us in the direction of a more just and compassionate world.
  • We can collaborate with and encourage men to take greater responsibility for care work in the household.
  • If we employ domestic workers in our homes, we can provide them with paid leave and flexible hours so they can provide care to their loved ones when they need it.
  • We can educate and encourage our own workplaces to provide paid leaves, flexible work arrangements and care services when possible.
  • We can encourage and support community organizations and unions to work together to demand benefits and fair compensation for all recipients and providers of care.
  • We can educate, encourage, and support our local, state, and national governments to implement and fund universal high quality care services for all.
  • How often do you really stop to do something selfless for a friend, or even a stranger? It's important to remember that even small acts can make a big difference. Need Ideas?
