My Grandma

Her occupation, profession, or focus of their life’s work:

Being the pillar of the family

Her favorite hobby:

Cooking for her 9 grandchildren.

Your favorite thing to do with your loved one:

My favorite thing to do with my grandma was when she would tell me stories about her life.

Her greatest milestone or accomplishment:

Coming to America & learning to adapt when she was born in a poor village in Iran and never went to school, and never got to opportunity to learn how to read or write.

Something she taught that sticks with you, or her best piece of advice:

My Grandma’s best piece of advice to me was to always be happy and never let anyone or anything bring me down.

How pandemic conditions affected her care or your ability to support her in her illness:

The limitation of family and friends by our side was challenging for our family.

If she were here today, what would you like to say to her?

That I love her and I will tell my children all about her & never forget her.

Would you like to add anything else about her?

She is reunited with my grandfather who passed away three months after her, because of how much he loved her and couldn’t deal with her loss. I love you both Naneh & Agha.
