Plan Your Degree
- Meet with an Academic Advisor – The Office of Academic Advising provides academic advising for all undergraduate students in the College of Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (CSTEM) at CSUSM.
- Degree Planning Tools
- Degree Planner - Interactive online tool that provides proactive course planning for students.
- 4-Year Roadmaps - Suggested semester-by-semester course plans that outline a path to degree completion. Course offerings are projected and may change based on faculty availability and student demand. CSUSM students are strongly encouraged to fine-tune a personalized graduation plan with an academic advisor and/or by utilizing the Degree Planner in myCSUSM.

Chemistry and Biochemistry students are assigned a faculty advisor based on the first letter of their last name. Faculty advisors can help with major-specific questions, course planning, research opportunities, graduate school, and career advice.

Get Academic Support
Need help with your STEM courses? The STEM Success Center (STEM SC) provides free academic support to help you succeed. Support services include:
- Free Peer tutoring
- Collaborative study space
- In-person and online tutoring
- Academic support for STEM courses
The STEM SC is located on the 2nd floor of the Extended Learning Building (ELB 250). Students are welcome to walk in for in-person tutoring or schedule an online tutoring appointment through Microsoft Teams. Tutoring is available for:
- Biology (BIOL 210, 211, 215)
- Chemistry (CHEM 150, 201, 202, 250)
- Computer Science (CS 111, 211, 231, 311)
- Mathematics (MATH 260, 270, 350, 374)
- Physics (PHYS 201, 202, 203, 205, 206)

- Pre-Med/Pre-Health Advising - This website supports students as they explore graduate and professional programs in healthcare, plan out the prerequisite courses needed to apply to a specific health professions program, and think about how to get involved in extracurricular activities to be a well-rounded applicant in the future. It also provides campus offices/resources to get involved in research and service opportunities on-campus and in the broader community and to prepare for professional exams and the application process.
