The Center for Training, Research, and Educational Excellence (CTREE), formerly known as the Office for Training, Research and Education in the Sciences (OTRES) from 2010-2022, and as Office for Biomedical Research & Training (OBRT) from 2000-2010. The center functions as the administrative home for several projects that focus on student and faculty career development and institutional curriculum enhancement in the biomedical and related sciences. CTREE has been very successful at obtaining funding to implement programs for student education, training and student participation in research, for faculty development, and for contributing to the educational mission of CSUSM. Our programs equip participants with the knowledge and skills they need for a successful career. CTREE students perform original scientific research, work on exciting projects, and conduct advocacy to advance research and health. CTREE students gain valuable experience and present their work at national conferences. Students are introduced to a broad range of scientific disciplines and are provided with networking opportunities.
