myCSUSMCurriculum Implementation Process and Timeline
The following are outlines of the Curriculum Implementation Process and Timeline (involving Academic Programs, IITS, and Registrar’s Office), to provide the academic
departments and faculty a better understanding of how long it may take for an approved
proposal to become a course in the class schedule or a program offered.
These were completed by Academic Programs and reviewed by Senate in Fall 2018.
Note: In support of student catalog rights, CSUSM implements programs and program changes,
new courses and course changes, only in the Fall.
Though on rare occasion there might be instances where a mid-year change is necessary
due to external factors (e.g., new accreditation requirements or a rapid change in
industry standards), a Fall-only policy is the most effective and least disruptive
method for students’ education, as well as the workload of the Implementation Team.
