Join us for the Graduate Studies Orientation and Mixer, a welcoming event tailored to introduce newly admitted graduate students to their academic program, campus resources, faculty, and peers. Scheduled the week before the Fall semester begins, this event features campus tours, a resource fair, graduate welcome convocation program, and graduate program breakout sessions.

Please join us in welcoming back two accomplished CSUSM alumni as our featured speakers at the Graduate Studies Welcome Convocation.
Michael Bethel (CSUSM Class of 2022) is an entrepreneurial, award-winning, and experienced National Key Account Manager.
Adept at communicating with senior management, internal departments, and key opinion
leaders, Michael effectively coordinates overall sales and marketing efforts to achieve
outstanding results and currently serves on the Board of Directors, National Black
MBA Association and is the Senior Account Executive for Oncology-Next Generation Sequencing.
Mayela Caro (CSUSM Class of 2011 & 2015) is an Assistant Professor of History at San Diego Miramar College. Previous to her teaching position, Mayela worked as a Curatorial Assistant for the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History, in Washington, D.C. She is currently pursuing a doctorate in history and public history at the University of California, Riverside, which she will be receiving in 2025.
