myCSUSMCampus Impact of Facility Dog
Connection. Belonging. Well-Being.
Frank's impact at CSUSM goes beyond providing a moment of comfort. As an embedded
Facility Dog, Frank creates opportunities for connection in the places students already
learn, gather, seek support, and build community.
Through recurring campus programming, academic experiences, wellness initiatives,
special events, and partnerships across the university, Frank helps create welcoming
spaces where students can pause, connect, engage, and feel that they belong.

More Than a Visit
Unlike programs centered primarily around occasional therapy-dog visits, Frank is
intentionally integrated into the CSUSM community. His ongoing presence allows him
to build familiarity, strengthen relationships, and connect students with people,
programs, and resources across campus.
Sometimes that connection begins with something incredibly simple - a student stops
to see Frank. They may stay to talk. Meet someone new. Discover a resource. Take a
mindful pause. Or simply feel a little more connected to their campus.
Frank Across CSUSM
Frank's collaborations span the campus community, including mindfulness and wellness
programming, Veterans services, Cougar Athletics, the Kellogg Library, academic courses,
student organizations, residence life, campus events, and other university partners.
The goal isn't simply to bring Frank to students - it's to use the connection he creates
to help bring the campus community together.
