Because I Care Fair

Tips and Tools Designed for Caregivers

The purpose of the BIC Community Resource Fair is to raise awareness of and garner support for individuals who provide care to aging family members suffering from Alzheimer’s, dementia, and other diseases of aging, family caregivers of younger people who have mental or physical health issues, and to promote healthy living for everyone.  We are committed to providing a FREE forum for family caregivers and professionals/volunteers providing assitance to others in order to obtain the information they need to care for their loved ones in a healthy, supportive, and rewarding way. 

The Fair will provide a FREE health fair, short educational workshops, recursos en español, talleres educativos en español, caregiver support, health screenings, and breakfast.

Volunteer

Volunteers needed! You must be a CSUSM or Mira Costa student to volunteer.  As a volunteer, you have the option to work full and part-time shifts.

Full time: 7:00 am to 1:30 pm

Part Time Morning: 7:00 am to 10:00 am

Part Time Afternoon: 10:30 am to 1:30 pm

Volunteers will receive a free t-shirt and complimentary breakfast. Tasks include, set-up, building balloon arches, attending workshops to learn about caregiver services, registration, helping attendees with questions, and take-down.
