Seward Award for Outstanding Psychological Research Paper
The Seward award celebrates an undergraduate student who has written an outstanding APA-style research paper at CSUSM. Papers will be blindly reviewed by a panel of CSUSM psychology faculty and the name of the recipient will be announced at the Annual CSUSM Psychology Student Research Conference and may also be published online. Award recipients will receive a $100 prize.
This award was established by Dr. Nissim Levy in honor of Dr. John Seward, a researcher in the area of learning and motivation and professor from UCLA.
Eligibility Requirements
- Must be an undergraduate student at CSUSM majoring in either Psychology or Child and Adolescent Development
- Has written an "outstanding" APA-style research paper at CSUSM, ideally with original data
- Paper received a grade of A or higher from a CSUSM professor or is accompanied by alternative evidence of excellence
- A student may only receive this award once
