Frequently Asked Questions

• How can I apply for the WUE reduced tuition at CSUSM?
  Simply submit your application to California State University San Marcos at Cal State Apply. If you are granted admission to CSUSM, you will automatically be considered for the WUE reduced tuition and will receive an email requesting you to accept. 
• When will I be notified if I am eligible for the WUE reduced tuition?
  Each March, CSUSM begins to notify eligible admitted students of the WUE reduced tuition. Please monitor your inbox if you have applied and have been admitted and meet WUE eligibility requirements!
• How many years is the award good for? Do I need to reapply each year?
  You can continue to participate in the WUE program until you have completed your baccalaureate degree. However, you must remain continuously enrolled as a full-time student. You do not need to reapply once you have been granted the WUE reduced tuition.
• Can I establish residency in California and pay the WUE tuition rate at CSUSM?
  No.  WUE participants are not eligible to become California residents for tuition purposes.
