Ceremony Registration

Graduates must pre-register to attend their ceremony.  An email with registration instructions has been sent to to all eligible graduates.  Graduates must register by Friday, April 22 in order for us to properly plan for your participation.

Guest Tickets & GradPass

During the registration process, each graduate can claim up to 8 guest tickets.  Guest tickets are not for sale, nor are they transferable. 

Graduates will register to attend their ceremony, select the number of guest tickets needed (0 - 8) and will then have access to print or email the guest tickets.  Please print or have your ticket ready on your phone at the venue entrance to be scanned.

Children age 6 and under do not need a ticket.

Graduates will be issused a GradPass, these will be emailed closer to the event date. You will use your GradPass as your entry into the venue, and keep it on-hand to scan before you cross the stage to have your name read.

Guest Seating

Guest seating will be on the field on a first-come, first-served basis.  Please no saving seats.

There is very limited shade on the field.  Umbrellas are permitted until the ceremony begins.

Wheelchair & Companion Seating

Guests who require wheelchair-accessible and companion seating may find the ADA seating section at the front of the guest seating area, directly behind the graduates.  Wheelchair-accessible seating will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis and is subject to availability.  We ask that no more than one person accompany to allow for maximum use of the space.


At this time we are not anticipating a need for guests to provide proof of vaccination or a covid test.  Students must continue to follow campus testing policy.

A standby line will be available for any additional guests, pending venue capacity of ticketed guests.

All bags are subject to a bag check.  We highly encourage you leave bags and valueables behind.

Please note that CSUSM is a smoke & tobacco free campus. Smoking is prohibited in all indoor and outdoor facilities on university grounds.

Commencement Day activities may involve prolonged exposure to the sun. Sunscreen, water, and hats are recommended.

We will have a free live video stream of the event for those who are unable to attend on on the day of the ceremonies.

Please keep in mind that typically 2,000 - 10,000 guests attend each ceremony, which means that traffic coming in and out of campus will be extremely heavy. Please plan on extra travel time to ensure your guests are not late to the event.
