Guest & Ticket Info

Commencement is a ticketed event. The deadline to register for commencement and claim tickets has passed.

Guest Tickets

You can claim up to eight guest tickets when registering for commencement. Guest tickets are not for sale or transferable.

Once you’ve emailed the tickets to your guests, they can either print them or save them to their photos (it’s best to mark as a favorite if saved to photos). Guests should have their ticket easily accessible when entering the venue.

Guests ages 3 and older will require a ticket to enter the venue. Guests ages 2 and younger are considered “lap-sitters” and thus don’t require a ticket. All guest seating is first come, first served; seats cannot be saved.

Additional Guests

We understand that you might want to invite more than eight people, so here are some alternatives for additional guests:

  • A standby line will be available for each ceremony. Guests in the standby line will be allowed in only at the start of the ceremony and if the venue is not at capacity. The standby line does not guarantee entrance into the venue or the guest being present during the processional.
  • There will be an alternate viewing area located on the second floor of the University Student Union (USU) 2nd Floor, Meeting Rooms 2310 A & B. The ceremonies will be livestreamed in these rooms, with seating and air conditioning Restrooms and a water station also are nearby. You can meet your guests at the USU and take pictures on campus.
  • You will receive a unique livestream link at least a week before commencement at your CSUSM email. This link will display your name and major and provide a livestream to your ceremony. The livestream link will be available at the commencement live website.
