myCSUSMMeet our Faculty
Learn from Faculty Exploring Communication, Media, and Society.
Our faculty are dedicated teachers, accomplished scholars, creative practitioners, and engaged mentors committed to helping students understand how communication and media shape contemporary life.
Faculty members bring expertise across communication, media studies, rhetoric, journalism, organizational communication, health communication, digital media, intercultural communication, popular culture, political communication, public communication, and emerging media technologies. Their teaching and scholarship examine how messages are created, circulated, interpreted, challenged, and transformed across interpersonal, organizational, cultural, and mediated contexts.
Students benefit from small classes, close faculty mentorship, undergraduate research opportunities, internships, creative projects, and opportunities to connect classroom learning with professional and community experiences.
Our faculty invite students to ask important questions about communication, media, culture, identity, democracy, technology, and social change while preparing them to become thoughtful communicators and engaged media citizens.
